ABOUT SARAH
Having started teaching secondary English both in the UK and abroad,  I then moved to working for ten years across the whole primary school age range, learning the fundamental literacy and numeracy skills which are the foundations of everyone's learning.  These skills were essential in my development as a specialist assessor and teacher, especially when I was trying to work with students who had struggled to acquire fluency in these basic skills. Having retrained as a Dyslexic teacher, over the next 20 years I worked with young people with additional needs as SENCo and Inclusion lead at several mainstream Hertfordshire  secondary schools. I also taught the Level 5 Specific Learning Difficulties Course  to other teachers who wanted to qualify as specialist teachers.Â
I am qualified in assessing and teaching students with specific learning difficulties (SpLD) such as Dyslexia. I assess students for Exam Access Arrangements at GCSE and A' Level, such as additional time or access to prompt, reader, scribe or rest breaks and I am qualified in prescribing the use of a coloured overlay. I also have additional qualifications in working with young people with autistic spectrum disorders, setting up and running Nurture provision and am a qualified TeenYoga teacher.
